September 18, 2013,  Nashville, Tennessee — International recording artist and singer/songwriter Pete Kennedy has been nominated for a record number of categories in this year’s British Country Music Awards, including Male Vocalist of the Year, European Act of the Year, Album of the Year (for Nashville Sessions: Volume 2), and two nominations for Song of the Year: Love Like That  and “Without You”, the latter of which he wrote and produced for female country singer Abi Bridgeman.
Kennedy is the first artist in the history of the British Country Music Awards to be nominated in five categories. Previously, Kennedy has won the 2012 award for Album of the Year (Nashville Sessions: Volume 1), as well as nominated for Song of the Year, “I Am the One”. He will be in attendance during this year’s show for a live performance, and is nominated alongside superstars Carrie Underwood, Vince Gill, Rascal Flatts, The Band Perry, and Tim McGraw.
#     #     #     #     #     #Irish-born, Pete Kennedy has made a name for himself since his humble starts early on. In 2010, Kennedy recorded a set of demo EPs and managed to get the music in the hands of Lee Williams, owner and CEO of Country Music Radio Nashville. Williams heard the songs and offered to bring Kennedy’s Irish charm and heartthrob nature to Nashville and he performed for the International Artist Showcase at Cadillac Ranch, prior to the 2011 CMA Awards.
Since that performance, his songs have stretched far and wide, on a national and international scale. Single “Yellow” reached #25 on the International Hot-Disc Chart and top 10 for the British/Irish Independent Hot-Disc Charts in late 2011. Recently, Kennedy has performed alongside pop icon Neil Sedaka and the Stylistics throughout two major UK Theatre tours, and released Nashville Sessions: Volume 2. The album features the upbeat “Find My Way” and the sobering ballad “Do You Take This Girl”, which is sure to end up on many wedding song mixes. Kennedy’s songs have a way of sticking to the heart, and through repeated listens, you can hear the melodies and stories are real. Love Like That will be the new single released 1 Oct in the UK
